Text submissions must be received in Open Document format as implemented by Open Office Writer. Do not set up specific formatting other than that described below.
Use Vera Sans for headlines/titles (16 point bold) and Vera Serif (12 point) for body text. Use italic only for foreign language words. Use a fixed pitch font such as Courier for hyperlinks or code snippets.
This a sample code snippet

Set the program's page size to Standard US Letter size and set left, right, top and bottom margins to one inch or 25mm. Place your name and contact information at the top of the first page, left justified, and then skip two lines (press Enter twice, once to end the line of text and another time to create a single blank line.)
Next type the title of your submission in Vera Sans font as described above. Press Enter twice.
Left justify your text. Do not fully justify or use centering or right justification for your text. If such formatting is absolutely required, describe it in the comments section described below.
Type your text. Separate sentences by using a final punctuation mark (period, question mark, etc.) and ONE space. Capitalize the first word of each sentence. Capitalize proper names. Allow the text to automatically wrap at the end of the line. DO NOT press Enter to force a new line until you are ready to start a new paragraph. Manual line breaks make editors tear their hair out, as your manually inserted line breaks will certainly NOT be where the editor needs them. Do not indent the first line of your paragraph. Instead, at the end of each paragraph, press Enter twice, once to end the paragraph and another time to create a single blank line. This makes your text easier for the editor(s) to format into whatever shape they require in the final publication.
Continue to the end of the article. Subheadings are formatted the same as titles: Vera Sans, on a line by itself (12 point bold).
This is an example subheading
DO NOT INSERT PAGE BREAKS, for the same reasons mentioned above regarding manually inserted line breaks. When you have typed the last word, press Enter twice and type <30> on a line by itself to indicate the end of your submission. If you wish to add comments, requests, instructions or explanations for the editor(s) to read, place them AFTER the <30> indicated above with one blank line below the <30> to separate them from the end of article marker.
Save your file.
RUN A SPELL CHECKER on the file if supported in your editor. If not able to spell check in the editor, then take the time to manually check spelling, punctuation, grammar and readability. Pay particular attention to the use of homonyms (words that sound the same, but have different spellings and meanings - e.g., to, too, and two.) Do not use abreviations such as IMHO, ppl, etc. Spell such words out completely. Time spent on this step will increase the odds of your submission being accepted for publication. Remember, an editor's job is to put the FINAL POLISH on your submission and ensure it gets laid out correctly in the publication. They will NOT rewrite to fix bad grammar or more than nominal typos or spelling errors. That is your job as the author.
If there are additional files to be submitted (graphics, etc.) along with your submission, list the filenames, and a description of what each contains in the same area described for comments, etc.
